This is something I'm trying to implement at the moment. I don't believe it is humanly possible to be Confucius and Zen all the time, although it is something a lot of us may wish for.
To supplement the mindset, I often hear
1) Zen, calming music like Yoga for example
2) Motivational yelling, "go harder!" etc. etc.
I look up to David Goggins. Indeed, it is past that halfway point where the real challenge comes in. This is way past that 'first step' mentality. It is in the grind, where the struggle comes. The first day may be easy in hindsight. What were we so afraid of? To set us apart, it is in the last, gruelling ending. To reach the ending, we must enter the ending stage. The desperation.
I hope that I can find a silent, peaceful method to find strength in these times. Where I do not need the yelling. For now, I am aiming for the 80% serenity. Through calmness, the breeze of the wind, some gentle chimes as I go through the 80%. In the last 20%, when I am limit testing, I need to reach/dig deep. I push past the doubt and the white noise in my mind shuts off. Mindset. It's so important and the reality you put yourself to believe in.
