Knowledge vs. Ignorance

Knowledge is power vs. Ignorance is bliss.
My past has been a lot of ignorance. Blissful ignorance like a goldfish in a bowl. Only familiarity is the bowl or the tank its in. It's probably had two homes, one being the original pond or body of water it naturally was born in. The other, the aquarium or the seller of the goldfish. Who knows?
When I began to realise such ignorance was getting me nowhere beyond the realms of comfort, I began to dive nose first into knowledge. It felt electrical, the world has knowledge to give in every corner, in every hole, in every sound... in absolutely everything. Supplemented by the information overload of today's paradigms; social media, search engines, influencers....!
I got a bit of an ego. I felt 'woke' but that was only just a butterfly that had just opened free from its cocoon. Telling itself life will be better now! But after a few days, flying around, enjoying this new world and its perceptions, it may realise. Life around has not changed. Your attitude still fundamentally shapes the world regardless of who you are. You are a tiny cog in a big world. But even the tiniest cog can make an impact. Do not compare.
I keep talking about a middle path. I thought knowledge was indeed power. Why would anyone want to live a lie? But I come back to my own preachings of a middle path. Ignorance can be good. It is in human nature to all find something that helps us sleep at night. What is the purpose of life? I think its safe to say, everyone wants to feel content about their day to day life and where they are going; using any form of means. Some choose to lie to themselves more than others. Some choose to try and walk a truthful path but in some fine line of their discourse, there will inherently be lies. But that is okay!
Is it a lie for people to not want a big mansion with a fancy car and 7 figures to their networth? Maybe people who truly deny any desire for this are so deep in their programmed thinking. Are humans deeply hedonic creatures? We all have our Freudian slips. And that's okay. Does it matter? Not really.
Find a SYSTEM that works for you, as an individual. A fine equilibrium where you are content with what you don't have and content with what you do have. Take passion in what you do have control over and discard anything you cannot hold any control over. Life is all; truth and lies.
