Men can't float

There's a time when in young ambitious men,

a seed blooms, which in hindsight is like a little weed.

It tells these men to get up out of their beds earlier.

It tells these men to go and train, when others wouldn't.

Young men, mostly from their teens to their thirties.

This curve is parabolic, a mountain at the top, gleaming at the peak.

Rain, hail or shine, those that are put to the test will make it through.

But make it through what?

Men that start younger often finish earlier.

Men who start older often finish earlier.

The battle is not just in the erosion of the shell,

but the softening of the mind.

To be hard, one must become soft, not by choice, contrary to opinion.

You see, balance is a fickle thing.

Ambitious pursuit or idle dreaming.

Scratching your itchy back or becoming Zen to the high-pitch buzz.

Zealous pursuit or tired feet.

Not enough fuel or hole in the tank.

He told me that he could fight!

Back in the day.

Others told me he said he wanted to levitate.

The weeds have spread across the garden bed,

and the man heaves in his chair.
