A reminiscing piece on adolescent nostalgia. Time can make us harden and at times, yearning for old memories. My writing is a way to bring order to my thoughts and reaffirm my values.
Real toughness is only discovered through tackling the challenge itself. As C.S. Lewis says "no man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good. .. You find out the strength of a wind by trying to walk against it, not by lying down..."
Childhood is a soft spot for many, and upon reflection, a realisation that this was the time where traumas and conditioned responses began. To come to better terms with this requires new challenges, new opportunities to grow. At times, our lives can be full of light and at other times, it may feel like it's full of darkness. During these times, we need to pierce this darkness, break through it, so that light can pierce through the cracks.
