Social media: Trumpet blowing

From children to adults, social media is a place where we share... but often too much. We get so conditioned to sharing that we forget how often and even the real purpose of why we share.
Remember the first post you EVER shared. There was a strong sense of dopamine after it. I remember my first Facebook post in 2009, talking about how I was feeling at primary school. Over the years, we begin to put stories of where we are, who we are with, what we are doing but often not really WHY we do something. I believe that is something we should be more mindful about. WHY do we do it?
While I strongly advocate for a 'learn it as you do' approach, especially for children... as the experience and teachings must be self actualised for it to be effective... Mindfulness is equally as important so they don't stray too far off into the wilderness and carve harmful, destructive mentalities manifesting into insecurities, depression, anxiety...
As adults, we all see social media sharing. Family vacations, work success, motivational speeches... For me, I am so accustomed to seeing motivational speeches, quotes, podcasts to the point where I began to feel that if I was not also participating in this "discussion", I felt I am not motivated. We speak about 'rat races' and escaping it, especially with our careers but what was ironic is that I was perpetuating in a rat race of being 'motivated'.
I often talk about 'motivation is temporary, discipline is permanent.' I often added 'purposeful discipline' but the great paradox here is that discipline MAY sometimes not feel purposeful. There CANNOT be a fire in everyday. You cannot possibly be in high hopes everyday. Aaaaand I'm going on a tangent..
Anyway. Maybe we don't need to post our epiphanies on LinkedIn. Maybe we don't need to share our hikes up mountains. But you do you. This was my thought of the day. Internalised learning, keep it to yourself to keep it just YOUR learning. At the end of the day, all you TRULY have is yourself. While you are your own PROTAGONIST, you do not need to have that conventional Hollywood linear film protagonist mentality. The world does not revolve around you and your voice. You do not need to be always proving something to the world.
