To keep it simple, we have a good self and a bad self; two selves. This can be categorised/personalised to whatever you like to help you understand. Lazier self, motivated self. Happy self, unhappy self etc.
Which side do you let dominate you? Think of everything we do on a day to day basis. Scrolling aimlessly on our phone, averting eye contact with strangers, making excuses to go exercise, taking a shortcut at work, partaking in activities that only exacerbate bad habits... The list is endless. Which side is dominating us?
There is enough darkness that is almost inevitable in life. Injuries, mental health, genetically coded issues. Natural disasters. Freak accidents. To let our bad selves dominate when such things are rampant is disastrous, dangerous and will lead to a worse quality of life.
Be the better version of yourself. Fight against that worse you. Little by little. Ask why. Which side do you let dominate you? It's all within us. The answers lie in our internal conflicts and how we come out on top through our MINDS. How bad do you want to win this battle?
Of course, have routinely times where your worse you comes out. Give yourself a break. Maybe this isn't the worse you. Just the tired you. Let that come out too. But control it, know when to let it out so your good self can have the energy to keep fighting the good fight.
